Opening Remarks (2020)

It is my privilege to welcome you to our 14th Annual Evidence-Based Practice Poster Day. It’s a virtual world we are living in now with the coronavirus outbreak, so our Poster Day has become virtual, too. But we are still teaching research and integrating best evidence for practice into our clinical courses.

Your posters are exemplars that demonstrate the best evidence for practice. As always, this Poster Day is interdisciplinary including students from nursing, speech language pathology, medical lab sciences, and physical therapy. Your posters cover topics including: CPAP Treatment Adherence, Psychiatric Readmission, Algorithm for Promotion of Mobility, Anti-Vaping Education, Obesity and Antipsychotics, FaceTime to manage Type 2 diabetes, and Adolescent Depression & Suicide. I hope you enjoy reviewing and discussing these posters and take away newfound knowledge to inform your practice. Thank you for attending, and hopefully next year we will be able to be physically present for this event.

Sincerely,

Gail C. McCain PhD, RN, FAAN
Joan Hansen Grabe Dean and Professor
